VedMatch ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian law. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), phone (if provided).
  • Profile data: date of birth, gender, city, profession, education, income, bio, photos.
  • Expectations data: your stated partner preferences (age, location, profession, etc.).
  • Usage data: pages visited, profiles viewed, interests sent/received.
  • Messages: chat messages exchanged with other members are stored on our servers.
  • Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To display your profile to other registered members.
  • AI-based matching: your profile and expectations are processed by our AI engine to generate match recommendations and compatibility scores. By using the Platform you explicitly consent to this processing.
  • To send you notifications about interests, matches, and messages.
  • To administer your subscription and process payments.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
  • To improve the Platform and develop new features.
  • Analytics: we use tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (see Cookies and analytics).

3. Cookies and analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies (and similar technologies) to keep you signed in and operate core security features.

Microsoft Clarity

We improve our products and advertising by using Microsoft Clarity to see how you use our website. By using our site, you agree that we and Microsoft can collect and use this data. This Privacy Policy has more details.

We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products and services. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products and services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud and security purposes, and advertising. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google LLC), including Google Analytics 4, to measure traffic and how visitors use the Platform — for example pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP), device and browser type, and events such as sign-ups or interactions with features. Depending on your browser and settings, Google may use cookies, pixels, or similar storage on your device to recognise browsers or devices and to collect this information in aggregated and pseudonymous form.

We use these insights to understand demand for our services, improve our website and product experience, and assess the effectiveness of our communications. 4. Messaging & Security

All data in transit between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). However, messages stored on our servers are not end-to-end encrypted — we can read message content if required for safety investigations or by law. Do not share sensitive financial or identity information over chat.

5. Data Storage & Location

Your personal data is stored on servers located in India in compliance with applicable Indian data localisation requirements. We do not transfer your personal data outside India without your explicit consent or as required by law.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it only with:

  • Other members: your profile is visible to registered members as per your visibility settings.
  • Service providers: cloud hosting, payment processors, email/SMS delivery — bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal authorities: when required by a court order, government directive, or applicable Indian law.

7. Data Retention

  • Active account data is retained for as long as your account exists.
  • If you delete your account, your profile and messages are deleted within 30 days.
  • Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Withdraw consent and request erasure of your data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

9. Children

VedMatch is not intended for persons under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you by email or in-app notice before significant changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after notice constitutes acceptance.
